Hoian Ancient TownHoi An ancient town is an exceptional well-preserved example of South East Asian trading port dating from the 15th century to the 19th century. It is approxiamately 30km south of Danang. Originally known as Faifo, this antique town is bordered on the southern side by the Thu Bon River. There are nine different types of historical sites of Hoi An with an average age of 200 years, including: private houses, family cult house, communal houses, temples, pagodas, community halls, bridges, tombs and wells. Many of these buildings have been maintained close to their original form, allowing you imagination to recreate a prosperous trading town. Hoi An is full of shops selling artwork, ceramic plates, antique bowl etc… In general, you can pick up almost anything you want. Besides, tourists are often being lured into the market to buy silk and to have quality garments tailor made.
